The mission of the American Society of Travel Agents and its affiliated organizations is to enhance the professionalism and profitability of members worldwide through effective representation in industry and government affairs, education and training, and by identifying and meeting the needs of the traveling public. The Society is the world's largest and most influential travel trade association with over 20,000 members in 140 countries.

 

The official trade organization of the cruise industry, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) also works in partnership with nearly 17,000 affiliated travel agencies throughout North America to ensure the highest caliber of cruise sales expertise and service for cruise vacationers. CLIA is a marketing and training organization composed of 19 of the major cruise lines serving North America and was formed in 1975.

 

The International Airlines Travel Agent Network’s (IATAN) mission is to promote professionalism, administer meaningful and impartial business standards, and to provide cost-effective products, services and educational programs that benefit the travel industry. Through the use of its informational and other resources, IATAN provides a vital link between the supplier community and the U.S. travel distribution network.

 

The Outside Sales Support Network (OSSN) is a leading travel industry trade association representing and supporting the Home Based Travel Agency, Independent Contractor Seller of Travel and the Outside Sales Travel Agent. OSSN's mission is to provide their members with every possible tool to help their business succeed in today's new travel environment. OSSN provides members with a variety of educational programs and networking communication platforms that allow members a professional forum to help ensure the success of your travel business.

 

The National Association of Commissioned Travel Agents (NACTA) is a leading travel industry national trade association representing independent contractors, outside sales agents, cruise and tour oriented agents, group oriented travel professionals and traditional ARC appointed travel agencies that provide services and support to such professionals. NACTA was established in 1986 as the original association with a mission to represent the interest of independent travel entrepreneurs.

 

Amadeus, headquartered in Spain with its North American operations based in Miami, Florida, is the leading global distribution system (GDS) and technology provider serving the marketing, distribution and IT needs of the world's travel and tourism industries. Through the Amadeus GDS, travel agencies and airline offices can make bookings 95 percent of the world's scheduled airline seats. The Amadeus system is an essential sales tool for travel professionals round the world. Over 220,000 travel agency terminals connect to Amadeus.

 

Sabre Travel Network, a Sabre Holdings company, connects travel buyers and sellers through the world’s largest global distribution system, providing over 50,000 travel agency locations with instant access to content from airlines, hotels, car rental companies, cruise lines and more. The Sabre® GDS features the industry’s most robust travel content. They also offer a broad range of products and services that enhance travel agency operations and their ability to serve the traveler.
